Quote of the week

12-28-14

“Although my heart may be weak, it’s not alone. Its grown with each new experience, and it’s found a home with all the friends I have made. I’ve become a part of their heart just as they’ve become part of mine. And if they think of me now and then our hearts will be one. I don’t need a weapon, My friends are my power!”

-Sora (Kingdom Hearts)

I chose this as what I believe to be one of the most powerful quotes from the franchise. Friendship is one of the strongest forces in the world. Treasure friendships, for with those bonds, one truly becomes strong.

Happy New Year to all my readers.

Quote of the week

11-16-14

In honor of the release of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire this week, I am using what is in my opinion, hands down the best quote to come from the series. Specifically, Pokemon: The First Movie:

“I see now that the circumstances of one’s birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with gift of life that determines who you are.”

-Mewtwo (Pokemon)

This is an excellent quote that can be applied to many things in the real world.  It is one of the most influential quotes I have ever heard in my life and it comes from a fictional character. The world could learn so much from Mewtwo, and the whole movie in of itself is a brilliant example of how no matter our skin tone, gender, (or in this case: original or copy) all living beings deserve a chance to live and make their own choices. It is those choices that reflect us and not the actions of our ancestors.

Quote of the Week

“In the world, those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum.” – Kakashi Hatake (Naruto)

To me, this says that you should not break the laws, and the people who do so, should be punished. Your friends are there to stand by you, and to leave one behind is truly despicable.

“Sometimes, we have to look beyond what we want and do what’s best.”-Piccolo (“Dragon Ball” series)

What I fell Piccolo is trying to say here is that there are times in which we need to put our wants aside and look at what the better solution is. I fell this is also similar to a quote for Mr Spock: “The needs of the many out way the needs of the few, or the one.” I fell it resonates well with Piccolo’s position at the beginning of Dragon Ball Z. He wanted nothing more than to defeat Goku. Instead, he had to team up with Goku to defeat a bigger threat, and then had to teach his arch enemy’s son how to fight so that the world could survive long enough for him to be able to rule it. So, he did have selfish reasons behind his actions, but Piccolo became one of the Earth’s strongest warriors.

“A smile can get you out of a tough situation, even if it is fake.”-“Sai” (Naruto Shippudenn)

I fell that Sai has a point here on account of the fact that sometimes, you just get a bad hand, and you have to try to smile and get though it.

Quote of the Week

9-7-14

This Wednesday, the 10th is Suicide Awareness Day.  In light of that I chose this quote.

“No matter how deep the night, it always turns to day, eventually.” “Humming Brook” (One Piece)

I fell as though this is an excellent quote for the week and what the 10th signifies. Everything will always turn out better eventually. While I have never been depressed, and thus have no way to truly understand how a depressed person fells, There are people out there who you can talk to.  If you or someone you know is going through depression, or even contemplating suicide, I have supplied the number to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline in this post.

National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
