I chose this as what I believe to be one of the most powerful quotes from the franchise. Friendship is one of the strongest forces in the world. Treasure friendships, for with those bonds, one truly becomes strong.

Pokemon Tournament

Attention all Pokemon trainers! There is an upcoming online tournament. It is singe battle format. It is only open to Pokemon caught/hatched in 6th Generation, in addition they have to be in the ORAS Hoenn dex. Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, and Deoxys are not permitted.  Registration is 15-22 of January and the tournament is the 23-25 of the same month. You are allowed to have 10 battles/day.

Book Review

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Rating:8/10

In this book, the protagonist is an amnesiac boy who remembers nothing other then that his name is Thomas. He finds himself in a lift that brings him up into an area filled with boys in the same situation as him.  These boys have made a small civilization. There are different jobs, the boss of each of these jobs is called a “keeper”. When a new person, or “greenie” as they are called by the other boys go though a trial of various jobs to see which suits them best.

There is one job that they don’t have Greenies do, it is the most dangerous job in the civilization known as “The Glade”, This job is running though the maze that surrounds the Glade. Its walls change at night, while the walls are up to prevent entry to them. Thomas decides that the job he wants is to be one of the runners.

One day, not long after Thomas arrives in the Glade, a girl is given to them along with a note that says she will be the last one.

I enjoyed this book. I like some dystopian future books, and Maze Runner has some hints of such in its pages. The movie based on this book comes out soon to blu ray and dvd, i believe next Tuesday, 12-16-14, but I may be mistaken on that date. The Movie was made by 20th Century Fox, who has a habit of changing what is likely more then necessary when a movie is based off of books. (Look at Eragon and the X-men movies for instance) But, maybe they did a good job of sticking close to the book this time.

Pokemon: The Hoenn Files 20

The New games, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will come out in America tomorrow. I am sure that many Pokemon fans out there are gearing up to return to Hoenn and combat Team Magma and Team Aqua once again. While some trainers may have decided which partner they will choose to begin the journey with, some may not have decided yet.

I would also like to remind everyone that, according to pokemonrubysaphire.com,  shortly after the game’s release, 11/21/2014-1/14/15 Players of the new game will be able to download a shiny Beldum holding Metagrossinte.

As such, this is the final entry in the Hoenn Files. I have saved this one for last, the Pokemon who will be showcasing my favorite type, Dragon.

 

#371 Bagon

The Rock Head Pokemon.

Ability(ies): Rock Head/Sheer Force(Hidden)

Bagon evolves into Shelgon at level 30, who evolves into Salamance at level 50. Salamance is capable of Mega Evolution.

Due to its well developed neck, this Pokemon can smash boulders with its head, that is strong as iron. It is also said that this Pokemon will jump off cliffs every day in attempt to learn how to fly, something it is incapable of doing until it is fully evolved.

 

Personally, I found Bagon to be adorable and I think Salamance is an awesome Pokemon to boot. I look forward to catching and training a Bagon in these games all over again.

The Brutal Pokemon

Shared evolves from Caravanha at level 30, and is capable of Mega Evolution

Known as “The Bully of the Sea”, This P{Pokemon can swim at speeds up to 75 mph. Its fangs are capable of tearing though sheet iron.

Sharpedo is one of my favorites from the third generation of Pokemon. I am happy to hear that he gets a Mega Evolution in the upcoming games in a few days.

#300 Skitty

The Kitten Pokemon

Ability(ies)Cute Charm/Normalize/Wonder Skin(Hidden)

Kitty evolves into Delcatty when exposed to a Moon Stone. Delicate has no known Mega Evolution.

Skitty will chasing moving objects, such as its own tail, running in circles until it tires itself out.

Personally, I put Skitty high up on my adorable Pokemon list. It may not have the best stats, but Skitty’s cuteness is definitely worth taking note of.

#304 Aron

The Iron Armor Pokemon

Ability(ies):Sturdy/Rock Head/Heavy Metal(Hidden)

Aron evolves into Lairon at level 32, who evolves into Aggron at level 42. Aggron can Mega Evolve

A pokemon that dwells deep in mountains, it is able to eat railroad tracks and carts. When it evolves it will shed its skin and grow a new one.

#336 Seviper

The Fang Snake Pokemon.

Ability(ies): Shed Skin/Infiltrator(Hidden)

Seviper has no known evolution and no known Mega Evolution.

Seviper are always at war with the Pokemon Zangoose. These two species of Pokemon have such a profound hatred of one another that the anime has shown they will leave their Pokeball on their own to fight one another, even if the trainer returns them to the ball.

Disclaimer: While it is not official at the time I am typing this, I have seen data that suggests that Seviper and Zangoose will both have Mega Evolutions, but it is not official yet.
