Rated: PG-13

My rating: 9/10

In this addition to the Cinematic Universe, we begin twenty-something years in the past, where we meet a young Peter Quill (Wyatt Oleff, Adult Quill is played by Chris Pratt). He is in a hospital, where is mother is dying of unspecified circumstances. Before she passes, she gives him a gift, which he does not open until the end of the film. He runs away from the hospital and is abducted by a ship. We now jump to the modern day, Quill now gown up (Pratt) is walking though a cave, listening to a mix tape he had when he was abducted while the opening credits roll. He goes to acquire an orb and a small group of people attempt to stop him. Later on, he meets Gamora (Saldana) and in a big scuffle of them as well as Rocket and Groot (voiced by Bradley Cooper and Vin Disel respectively) who try to capture Quill for a bounty, the four end up in a prison.

Overall, this movie had an excellent blend of action, humor, and great music such as: Blue Swede’s Hooked on a Feeling and Norman Greenbaum’s Spirit in the Sky. The film also includes Karen Gillian, most known for her role as Amy Pond on Doctor Who from series 5-Series 7, part 1 as the bald blue space warrior, Nebula. In addition, with the inclusion of the Nova Corp I do hope we get a movie for Nova soon. If they do, which Nova from Earth would you like to see? Who should play them?
